General Updatin' or WRITING THE WAY I SPEAK IS COOL

Not too much happenin'. Goin' to my first university lecture soon. Then I have to come home and work on my usual high school assignments. Not sure taking on a uni subject while still in school was the best idea. Ah well. C'est la vie. Yeah, I know the phrase barely applies to my situation.

Weird thing happened a couple nights ago. My younger brother and I were home alone, and we decided to play table tennis in the garage. So we let my sister's puppy out of her room, but she really freaked out. Started barking at the door to the backyard. We couldn't get her to stop, so we stuck her back in the room, but when we let her out again ten minutes later, she was still acting really weird. We couldn't see past our reflections, even with the outside lights on, but I couldn't see much out there. Might have seen some movement, but I think I'm just being paranoid. If anything, it was probably a cat. Pretty sure the neighbours have a white cat, which would explain what I thought I saw. Now that I think about it, the puppy's been scared of the garage and outside at night before.

Anyway, I should go. Gotta print off my lecture notes and bus timetable.

Cookie Mania!

Well, not mania. But I finally got around to making cookies, so I'm certainly manic. Check 'em out, yo. It's my mum's recipe... that she got from a friend 30 years ago. Anyway, it's incredibly easy and delicious. Not to mention pretty much impossible to screw up.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 4 oz butter (½ cup)
  • 4 oz sugar (½ cup)
  • 3 oz brown sugar (½ cup)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 6 oz plain flour (1 ½ cups) Note: I always use at least 2 cups, just because I prefer a less sticky consistency.
  • pinch of salt
  • ½ teaspoon bicarb soda
  • chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 180°C.

2. Cream butter.

3. Combine two sugars and add gradually to butter while beating until mixture is smooth and fluffy.

4. Beat in egg and vanilla.

5. Sift flour, salt and bicarb and stir into mixture until smooth.

6. Place small amounts on trays lined with baking paper and bake for 10-15 minutes.

Before

During

After

Makes nearly 30, depending on the size. I had some leftover dough at the end, but couldn't be bothered lining another tray, hence the two dozen cookies I ended up with.

Unfortunately, I ate a lot of cookie dough while I was making them, so I won't be eating the actual cookies any time soon. Sometimes I just seem to completely lack common sense.

Honestly.

Late night cartooning...

And I mean that in two senses. One, I finally finished Julie's birthday present:

And two, I've been watching Batman and Justice League compulsively. I can't help it. That Joker is just hilarious.

My parents are getting a little frustrated, so I'd better cut this short. Really short. Short enough to not even have a parting line that I can wittily add "Honestly." after.

Honestly.

Introducing...

The weird, the wacky, the undeniably odd dynamic duo:

Bill and Bob!

That's right, not only am I posting two days in a row, but this time I've brought friends! Well, I consider them friends, anyway. Closest I'll ever get. LOL. Self-deprecation is not at all a cheap, unimaginative form of humour. If it was, I wouldn't use it so often, since that would make me cheap and unimaginative. Two in a row, anyone?

Back to the point, now, I think. I used to make many Bill and Bob comics, however they were all lost in the great computer crash of... some year. And then I deleted my Bebo without saving them first. Sheer idiocy on my part.

But enough of that. A round of applause, if you will. I won't hear it, but it'll make you look stupid, and that's enough for me.

Oh, yes, they have attitude. Honestly, it was the only image of them I had in my mind. As a banner, I mean. Not to worry, they're usually much more agreeable. As proof, allow me to present them in their first appearance since it was still cool to hang out at shopping centres all day for no particular reason.

Tada. Impressive, yes? Anyway, they'll be making irregular appearances from now on, so expect to see them again eventually! I know I'm looking forward to it.

Honestly.
